3 years agoI've been having issues with a white screen in my game for a couple of weeks that would basically freeze the video but not the audio, I would be able to hear myself die when it happened and then could blindly navigate the menu and hear everything working but no video.
Tried again tonight (after changing nothing) and the game won't even launch now. So I looked up some things related to that and found a couple of posts on this sub mentioning an issue with steam_api.dll - deleting it allows the game to launch and I also don't have any issues with the white screen now. Does anyone have any experience with this issue? I don't know how to solve it, I want steam to be working properly. I tried using a dll from a friend whose game is fine as well and it didn't affect anything. If the dll is there the game doesn't launch.
