TR Rajakumari

Thanjavur Ranganayaki Rajayee popularly known by her screen name TR. Rajakumari was a Tamil film actress, Carnatic singer and dancer. She has been called the first 'dream girl' of Tamil cinema.

Rajayee made her film debut as 'TR. Rajakumari' in the 1939 Tamil film Kumara Kulothungan which was an average grosser. Jyothika Saravanan is a Tamil film actress who acted in several Tamil films.[1] She also acted in a few Kannada, Malayalam, Telugu and Hindi films. Her films include Chandramukhi, Vettaiyadu Villaiyadu and Mozhi

Asin Thottumkal known mononymously as Asin is an Indian film actress, model and a stage performer.

Making her acting debut in Sathyan Anthikkad's Malayalam film Narendra Makan Jayakanthan Vaka (2001), Asin had her first commercial success with Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi in 2003, and won a Filmfare Award for the Best Telugu Actress for the film

After a number of films, she received her second South Filmfare Award for Best Actress for her performance in her second Tamil film, Ghajini (2005). She played the lead female roles in hits, the thriller Ghajini (2005) and the action comedy Varalaru (2006). In 2008, Asin made her début in Bollywood, with Ghajini, the remake of its Tamil namesake, subsequently winning the Filmfare Best Female Debut Award

Asin's first Tamil language film was M. Kumaran son of Mahalakshmi, in which she co-starred with Jayam Ravi. Asin reprised her role from her film Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi for the remake, which saw her portraying a Malayali girl instead of the Tamil girl in the original. The movie subsequently went on to become one of the biggest hits in Tamil cinema during 2004, introducing Asin to Tamil film industry. 11. Amala Paul

Amala Paul's talent shone through in Myna and now there is a huge craze for her. In Deiva Thirumagal, she proved that she could hold her own against the likes of powerhouse performers like Vikram and Anushka. Now her stock value has gone right through the roof and she has films like Mupphozudhum Un Karpanaigal, Kadhalil Sodhapuvadhu Eppadi and Vettai to further consolidate her position.

10. Shriya Saran

As Rajini's heroine, Shriya got the biggest break of her career. This year, she was seen in Rowthiram with Jeeva and did an item number with Vikram in Rajapattai.

9. Shruti Hassan

Shruti Haasan had a dream debut in Tamil, with AR Murugadoss directed 7aum Arivu opposite Surya. The actress will be seen in 3 next opposite Dhanush.

8. Rich Gangopadhyay

Richa arrived with a bang opposite Dhanush in Mayakkam Enna. Her character, Yamini was much talked about and people loved Richa as Yamini. She could not have asked for a better launch. Richa followed this up with Osthe as a feisty village belle.

Tamannah did Siruthai and Venghai in Tamil this year. Both films did enough to keep her in the memory of fans and they are hoping to see more of her.

5. Trisha Krishnan

Trisha will always be Tamil cinema's sweetheart even if she is making more films in Telugu. The actress made a big comeback with Vinnaithandi Varuvaaya and was the obvious choice for Ajith's heroine in Mankatha. She will be seen next in Samaran with Vishal.

4. Hansika Motwani

Hansika made her debut in Tamil cinema this year with Maapillai. She followed it up with Engeyum Kadhal and Velayudham. Already she is a firm favorite with her chirpy onscreen persona and tended to plumpness frame that is reminiscent of perennial favorites like Kushboo and Jyothika. Samantha has done Moscovin Kaveri, Bana Kathadi and Vinnaithandi Varuvaaya in Tamil. Her next film is Neethane En Ponvasantham opposite Jeeva which is to be directed by Gautham Menon.
